thanks Wolf! ;)
I'm finishing the captain and other four models. Pics soon! :)

Well, the Ogre is a Perry Twins sculpt, so no surprise its THE AWESOMENESS!!!   :D

I'm really ignorant about sculptors, what else from Perry Twins?

All of the original Empire range, much of the LOTR stuff, and gobs of their own historicals.  Perry Miniatures is their website. Just google it.  IMO they have the best grasp of human anatomy and proportion.

goosh o_o!

€ 3-3,5/model for that kind of model....!
I think 10 € is correct price.

I know you're on promotional sale but...

have a nice paint, man.

Hey Damien! :) thanks for supporting. Next 5 minis batch is coming. The captain is almost finished, hope to finish it tonight and take some pics tomorrow. Due to approching law exams I can paint only in the evening/night and so I'm going slower than usual :(

hey Kritikor! :D
This super low price is just because I have never done any commission before, here on LAF. So I'd like to give people the opportunity to see the value of my painting before running the right price. :) Luckily, I love to paint minis ;)
I think 10 euro WOULD be the correct price but I'm not sure that people would pay 100 euro plus shipping for a 10 model warband, even if very well painted.

What do you think about guys?

Cheers
Faber

I'd have no problem whatsoever paying €10 per figure for painting of this quality. Lots of painters - and I'm not talking about Golden Demon winners doing display cabinet work - charge this sort of price or more.

Better to charge a fair price and have enough work than be cheap and have too much, I reckon.

well, I think the chaptain (is the sworded-shielded one the chaptain?) takes you at least 2 hours working, at least.
5€/hour (+color, light, etc.) for that model.
Still a very cheap price.

of course I'm more painter than buyer!

Eh eh thanks :)
I know a lot of non pro painters are asking 10euro or more for a single figure. It is still a low price for the work involved but more reasonable. BTW, I'm happy with the super discount I did: is the chance to show people how I work. For next commissions I will apply a higher price, and hope people will spend a little more but knowing I am a trustable painter here on LAF ;) I totally agree that is better to charge a fair price and have enough work than be cheap and have too much. But starting is starting :)

Yes, you are right Tom. Especially thinking that the captain took me far more than 2 hours :D
BUT, it was a real joy to paint it and so I'm happy I did it. :)

BTW, here the result with the captain. He is a Marienburg captain and I think he deserved a gold armour: the Admiral agree and so he is really shining now :) Pics aren't so good...I know :( I am still waitin for that bloody phototent I ordered from China on ebay ( o_o) to arrive. I tried to achieve a decent result with sunlight plus a white-light lamp but it is still far darker than what I wanted.
Here is the goldboy:

and with the other two finished fellows:

@Admiral Benbow: if you are not happy with something please tell me. I'm waiting to finish the entire gang before of giving them a matt varnish for protection, so they are still changeable. ;)

what do you think guys?
C&C always welcome!

cheers
Faber

Many thanks Ale! ;) Usually I go with a more pinkish style for skin but since I've painted this more "tanned" (as requested) guys I think I really love this way. More realistic and pretty cool ;)
BTW the skin recipe, for who is interested: GW tallarn flesh + 1/4 snakebite leather is the base, then wash with ogryn flesh, than highlight with thinned tallarn flesh, then with tallarn flesh + 1/4 elf flesh, than wash again with watered down ogryn flesh again to unite the highlights.

Absolutely superb work, Faber!

Thanks mate! :) They would fit perfectly in Krappefortt lol
