Hi,

This is my first proper post on here so I hope it turns out ok. A friend and I are planning to do some VSF skirmish games at our club later this year. This is the test model for my Japanese force (sorry about the poor photos) :

Here are some photos of him with my WIP aeronef:

I won the hull in a raffle a while ago, I think it was made to be a pirate ship, i've blacked out the wood to make it seem more like an ironclad, covered the mast holes and added some fins. I just need to add a propeller and some bits such as a gun and wheel.

Excellent stuff Luke.

Great to see the ship being put to good (alternate) use. Nice painting on the miniature too.

I may have to dig out my Sanwar for a game sometime, assuming I manage to get to the club a bit more often this year.

Great start what colour are you planning for the planking? a nice deep varished Teak would look great, sort of like HMS Warrior.
I haven't seen any Victorian era Japanise warships just the scale models made at the ship builders of the various Tyneside ship yards (a local musem in Newcastle has them dotted about on various floors) If you can think about some sort of dectoration for the bow, not a figurehead as such but some sort of scroll work seems right.

Thanks for all the kind comments, I'll try to finish the nef off before the end of this school term but that may be hard with exams.

I notice from your email address that it's '.co.uk' so is that Abingdon near Luton, in England?

I know Froggy is somewhere in the vicinity of Virginia in the US - it may be that he little idea of where Abingdon might be...
