British 1944
« on: January 07, 2012, 11:28:56 AM »
Hi LAFers,

I'm planning to start playing disposable heroes and like to build up a british and commonwealth force! However I'm not too sure which colours to use... ??? I'm undecided between the colours provided by the foundry WW2 range and Vallejo colours which I normally use to paint my stuff.

How historically accurate are the foundry sets? I like those, because they offer specific sets for the different parts of the uniform!
What about Vallejo paints? Does anyone have a painting guide for 1944 British and Commonwealth uniform (not paras), using Vallejo colours?

Thanks for any help!

Regards,

Gunslinger

The Vallejo box has a good painting guide on the back and includes all the colours you need.
They do a different box for British, Russian whatever infantry and tanks.
I have the British one if you want I can give you the paint nos of it??

No problem the set is BPS01 British paint set. It includes:
Russian uniform 924 for Helmet
Khaki 988 for webbing
English uniform 988 shirt and trousers
I know you didn't want para details but those paints are in the set.
Green ochre 914 para camouflage
reflective green 890 para camouflage
flat earth 983 para camouflage

I think I go that way and buy the complete set-looks like a got investment to me :) Especially as you get far more Vallejo paints for 36€ than Foundry >:( Thanks for your advice swiftnick!
