Abu's New Zulus, Part II: Durnford, et al.
« on: January 27, 2012, 07:39:09 AM »
Two boxes of Warlord plastics painted and a third underway in my second installment of my Zulu collection.  Here's the first test of my new basing.  Up till now, I had based them all singly, but now in addition I have laminated sheet magnet onto thin plywood to create movement stands.  I mask the contact area with washers and spray textured paint onto the stands before painting and flocking to match the bases.

When done, I'll have 8x32 figure Zulu units, plus some skirmishers. Making more Brits as well, will post sometime in the future.

Cheers, my good man.

I am now working through the last of my original purchase from Empress in anticipation of receipt of Lancers and NNC. While I find a speed painting approach to be sufficient for my Zulus, I always end up lavishing time and effort on the Empress metal Brits.

Durnford, followed by a few auxiliary dismounts.  The mounted versions, another 7# piece and a Fndry Boer wagon next up!
