Judoon seem to be a sturdier plastic than the Ood. Both are quite soft though, about the same as the cybermen and sontarans but nowhere near as floppy as the weeping angels.

Silurians! Brilliant! They're armed, but the Judoon are not. Weird. Still, I need Silurians to go up against my UNIT forces.

The heads of The Silence figures look like they could be useful for all sorts of things (DW related or not)!

Thanks for posting the pictures!  Looks like the Silence may be the best looking sculpt of the 4 (curious to see what the Silurians look like--details are a little hard to make out).

Seriously? Someone's twigged that sales shoot up whenever they do freebies that are suitably sized for wargaming... (and yes, I nipped out and bought it today too)

Picked up a set yesterday, one for me, one for my 8 year old daughter. They're pretty average really, softish plastic with quite pronounced mold lines  >:(

Looking forward ot the next lot though, you can never have too many Doctor Who bits and pieces  :D

Here's what the DWA Ood and Judoon look like painted.

Comparisons with their Micro-Universe equivalents (NB the height difference is entirely because I left the DWA figures' cast-on bases in place).

Silence and silurians are big! and I mean BIG!!! The Silence, which I know are supposed to be tall, stand over a head taller than the Judoon. I'll post a pic later once the paint is dry. And try and get a comparison with all the freebie figures together.

Some quick scans:

If I remember aright, the actor who plays the lead Silent is 7 feet tall, plus bulbous mask, so a 40mm model is fine by me.  As for the Silurians, they are tall, but are much better sculpts than I had expected.  And at the least, Jenny will be happy to have some big strapping reptile women around ...

Next week's "free" gift is ... some pencils and paper.  Hm.

Both these and the previous freebies are far better than I would have expected. I'll forward to seeing them with a coat of paint – the Ood and Judoon have come up really well.  :)
