Anybody else drill out the gun muzzles on their minis, or am I the only one that anal! I just can't stand that blank end, especially on large bore weapons.  I even did it on a pewter cannon barrel with a Dremel cutter bit! Man, talk about hot!

Artillery certainly, otherwise I may go as far as a dot of black paint, GW figures on the other hand...

I drill out some of mine not all of them, it depends on my mood.

Sadly, I tend to drill them too, unless they're too small or delicate.

Sometimes, usually just cannons though (I'll do the touch hole too)

Yes, I tend to drill them out. Recently, I drilled out the barrels of my 15mm Peter Pig bazookas and 30cal mg's. My buddy thought I was nuts, but they look so much better.

There's nothing wrong with it. I'll drill them out, too. Especially the larger ones like mortars, machine-guns, artillery guns. But when it comes to delicate rifles and pistols, I'd rather tend to skip this step.

I don't think you're sad at all - the devil is always in the detail. But I tend to just make sure there's a good shiny highlight on the end of my muzzles, then use a black dot in the centre. From more than a few inches away, it looks pretty convincing to the nekkid eye.
Here are a couple of examples...

I never used to drill out guns, but did it today for the first time while assembling that Robotech walker for Weird War II.

I'll agree that in some cases it isn't worth the trouble but in others...That rocket launcher in your second picture would give me fits if I didn't drill out the muzzle (unless it's already done)!
This is how bad it gets...I was trying to drill out the barrel of the Thompson on one of Pulp Figures' Evil Hooded Minions when it split in half.  So, I removed the remaining piece of the muzzle end, drilled a larger hole in the collar, cut off a 1/16" piece of brass rod and glued that in place! I told you, anal!
