Like the guy on the left. Any experiences with Relic Miniatures anyone? How they are compared to Renegade?

Their site says most of the figures are "true  28mm", except for a few heroic scale characters, so I'd expect them to be smaller than Renegade.

They do look slighter than renegade who are on the chunky side.

But Renegade's Celts aren't as obviously oversized as some of their ranges.  Althogh I avoid their cricket bat "swordsmen", I mix their spearmen with A&A's, and with one generation (2d, 3d?) of Foundry Celts.  The Relic figures will indeed be a little thinner and look lankier, but I'd use them alongside Renegade's *spearmen".  Because Mike does nice swords, though, they'll look weeny next to Renegade's.

Rather nice, and well proportioned.
I've always really liked those Eastland Dark Ages figures, and I agree Karl, these do have a similar look, although the Eastland poses are a bit more stylised than these.
I don't think I've ever actually seen anyone painting or using the Eastland figures though. Think they are a real minority interest...
If I ever get round to building a warband or two for Saga though, i might well have a go at them myself...  ::)

They are nice, the Picts especially, the saxons are as you say a little more stylised with spears/swords avoe head poses a little un-natural. They are similar to his old fantasy forge celts for celtic mythology. I think Redzed or Duff on Frothers painted some a while back, but I think with the hordes of dark age stuff out there they often get over looked or lose out ot other larger ranges

Ah yes. Great work. Thanks Mad Doc.
How big are they relative to say Perry or Hicks typical sculpts?
Nice to paint?

(Sorry Prof, bit off topic, but since we're here...  ;))

Do we reckon Eastland is the same sculptor for Relic?

The top picture certainly follow that style but are a little more weedy in build and if being ultra criticasl not quite as detailed in the facial features fomr that photo anyway, so I dont think so but may be wrong
