Matabele Wars: Uniform advice

Could any of the experts here please offer some advice.  I'm thinking of painting up some North Star Matabele and BSAC troopers to use for a small skirmish game.  But there were police forces involved also.  What type of uniforms would the police have worn?  Would they still wear helmets like those used by Natal Mounted Police in the Zulu wars or had they been phased out.  I've had a search on the internet but can't find anything for this period.

I thought those North Star figures were the British South Africa Company Police?

I may have got that wrong, though.

There were also Bechuanaland Border Police involved too. Some of these were part of the Shangani Patrol. Images of the Shangani Patrol typically show an irregular civilian look, but the patrol was a mix of volunteers and police.

This modern Batswana stamp seems to show a khaki uniform and slouch hat for the BBP:



So it seems they did possess as uniform, but I don't know if they wore it during the war.

Yes, you're right they are the company police.   I must have misread that there was another police force in action at that time too.  Slouch hats it is and khaki brown/uniforms.

No, you were right. There was the BBP as well as the BSCAP, as mentioned in my second post.
