Fearless Vampire Hunters
« on: January 05, 2008, 05:33:24 AM »
My wife bought me this castle and I just had to do something with it. So here are some fearless vampire hunters and there adventures.

The castle and surrounding area.

What good is a graveyard without a ghost or two?

Demon on the steps.

Our crew confronts the evil Otto.

Into the catacombs.

Fancy meeting you here.

In the courtyard.

Welcome to my home!

The woods they say are full of wolves.

Hmm...maybe I got a doggy bone?

Good evening!

Go ahead you open it.

Cheers,
Troll

Yay! Original plastic Fury of Dracula figures. Oh the memories... :)
That's a great castle, where's it from?

Thats the Blue Moon/Old Glory Castle Dracula. :)
I still have my Fury Of Dracula game, but the figures in my box were 20mm lead figures.

I have the edition with the lead figures too. It's nice to see them get out of the box though. Very cool scenery too.  8)

Honestly never heard of the game. Those are pretty good for Plastics! What scale are they?

Love the castle! What a great gift.  :)

They're about 20mm. They came in the old version from the eighties, although it's just been rereleased with all new stuff in. For about £40 a pop.  :o

I'll stick to my old one, ta.

Thanks Jollybob! Too bad that they are so small.

Jolly Bob is off the mark this time around.

They're 25-28mm and fitted with every other figure around at the time. The later metal ones weren't as good in my opinion. More detail but less character :)

The new version of the game is lovely with slightly different mechanics and a new set of figures as well which, sadly, are too small to go with anything of a proper scale.

The new game generally costs about £27.00.

Really?

Oh, ok. I was sure they were a lot smaller than 25mm. I'm gonna have to look now.

I'm happy to be proved wrong, of course, but I could have sworn...

EDIT:

Just took a quick pic of mine next to a contemporary GW Chaos Thug and a Grenandier knight.

As you can see, they're a heck of a lot smaller. Maybe the limited edition metal ones were, but the plastic were a better fit with other things?  :?

Is he plastic or metal?
My plastic ones (dark blue, first set) were easily a match for grenadier figures of the time, we used them for many a Cthulhu game. if they didn't match i wouldn't have wasted time painting them.

The ones in the pics in this thread appear to be on standard 1" fender washers which would make them bigger like mine were.

He's metal. I've never seen the plastic ones. Reading back, it looks like Malamute's were the same as mine.

Thinking about it though, Troll's castle is for 28mm figs, and the ones he's used seem to fit really well with it, so I guess they must be of a similar size.

I've no idea why they would make two different sizes. Most peculiar.  :?

As stated above the castle is Blue Moons Dracula's Castle.  The figures are the plastic ones from Fury of Dracula and I would say they are about 28mm.  They look fine next to my Pulp figures.

Cheers,
