I was just revisiting the excellent catalogue from Tin Man Miniatures, my interested rekindled with the release of John Carter. I think that either of these two could pass for Aprhodite, much better than the sad excuse that Foundry just put out.

Really sweet, good find!

Good call (and I agree the fugly Foundry mini is laughable as the goddess of love).

I don't want to be be anti foundry for the sake of being anti foundry. It's just that their sculptors interpretation of the characters don't match mine, for the most part anyways.

I quite like that minotaur. I have their Leonidas, and he's a great fig.

If you're going to get a Talos, why not get the 'real' thing?  Xplus made some very nice action figure/statues a few years ago.  They're supposedly limited edition, but I got mine on Ebay for about $20USD, if memory serves (maybe 30 bucks total with shipping).

... I've really gotta finish painting that 'Conan' figure one of these days...

You can see how big it is next to a 28mm figure - it even has the awesome little plug on his heel. I think that with a simple light bronze drybrush, the figure would be all set for the tabletop.  I'm not really planning on doing anything at all with mine before I use it.

good find, Alex, I like him!

found one at ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-PLUS-RAY-HARRYHAUSEN-15-TALOS-STATUE-FROM-JASON-AND-THE-ARGONAUTS-MINT-IN-BOX-/120884840704?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c254c4900

unfortunately shipping to germany would be about 50$  :o

That guy's pretty cool... I've got the kneeling version on the plinth, but not the standing version...  it's seriously tempting to get this one, but I really do NOT need three different Talos statues sitting in my house...

Too bad about the international shipping - that's expensive.

Check it out, Jason's Argo from Grand Manner. Pricey but nice.

Lots of nice Greek terrain here. http://www.grandmanner.co.uk/28mm_Classic_Greek--category--2.html
