Second book in the series about the time travelling Polish reconnaissance battalion from 2007 which is thrown back to 1939 by author Marcin Ciszewski.
Minor spoilers aheadThe second book in the series pretty much picks up where the first one ended and describes the events after the capitulation but mostly takes place in 1943. Command over the remaining soldiers from the future has been handed over to commander Wojtynski, head of the small band of GROM special forces which were also thrown back in time with the rest of the Polish reconnaissance battalion preparing for their mission in Afghanistan.
The second book has a more serious tone to itself, and the story is actually a lot better with parallel storylines from the point of view of both Polish resistance fighters, German Gestapo officers and Soviet agents. The action takes place in and around occupied Warsaw, both Germans and the Russians know about the existence of the time travelers and are trying to find out about the technology which allowed this. At the same time the Jewish resistance fighters are getting ready for the Warsaw Ghetto uprising of 1943.
