Bronze age hut
« on: March 21, 2012, 07:00:19 AM »
This has been finished for well over a week (nearly two) but work commitments have prevented me from posting it here and to who it belongs  ::)

The roof comes off but that wasn't the best picture. The figure is a Copplestone/Grenadier barbarian mounted on a 25mm square base.

Top notch, as usual, James! What did you use for the roof?

Thanks chaps  :)

Alex, I used teddy bear fur and was actually rather pleased with the way it came out. I'm still looking for the perfect way of doing it that doesn't take the same amount of actual time to do a real one  lol

Cheers

Love the smoke hole detail.
How have you done the logs i.e bark. Is it painted or proper sticks

Yes, it looks good, also especially I like the colors you did use to paint the roof.

Just balsa dowel given a bit of texture and then painted and weathered.

Yes, it looks good, also especially I like the colors you did use to paint the roof.

The fur was a golden brown, covered in wood glue and then inked and subtly drybrushed. I even combed it a little  :D

Lovely, lovely work. Thank you for sharing this with us, and the details of how you did it.
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

Excellent.
The roof is great,
the rest is better than great.
If I ever get around to more Dark Age stuff,
I hope my stuff comes out like yours.
