Malifaux Guild (commission complete) 8/4/2012
« on: March 31, 2012, 10:30:03 AM »
Will use this thread to post pictures of my latest commission, a bunch of Guild miniatures for Malifaux. First out is the Exorcist. The customer will matt varnish all models himself, I also have separate resin bases for all models which will be painted towards the end of this project - and the customer will pin the models to the bases himself as well.

Very nice and very different to the normal type of colour schemes.

Thanks, currently painting the Lady Justice Avatar and having a great time, the Death Marshals were  quite boring to paint and I never liked the sculpts. The customer wanted a darker theme on his miniatures, so lots of black and dark brown. But I'm very pleased with the way I painted lady justice, with black pants, white top and the red hair make for great contrasts.

Sounds great and looking forward to the pic. Not bought an avatar yet, for various reasons.

Lady J was one of the more enjoyable models that I've painted for ages. (pics in the other games section)

Lovely work.

I also went for a white top on my Lady J as I thought that it helped to define the various elements in quite a cluttered miniature.

How are you finding the Lady Justice Avatar model?  To my eyes its looks very fragile and difficult to assemble and paint.  With that, the $ cost involved and the pretty out there concept of the model I have been considering making a proxy more to my liking.  So I would love to know how you are getting on with the official model.

The Avatar is solid if you use the right glue and greenstuff the ram and the crow coming out of her hands. Surprisingly so. The Justice miniature comes cast in one piece with her hands held out on which you attach the manifestations. So I would not worry. You can strengthen the construction even further by pinning them on if superglue and greenstuff (needed to mask the edges) isn't enough for you.

I painted the avatar as assembled and based without problem. Only thing I painted separately were the wings for both creatures.

Yeah I think the white top makes for a better looking model than the weird "one piece" Wyrd had painted it as, cool to see others thought the same  :)

Haha, last week was rough. A company of By Fire and Sword Dragoons on horse and on foot, one company of BF&S cossack cavalry, 4 Panzer II tanks, 50 meter of fence around our house and 6 Malifaux miniatures  lol

Last 5 miniatures for this commission were painted up on Monday/Tuesday this week before I sent them back to the customer. Can’t say I enjoyed it all as I pretty much had to work my ass off to be ready for the BF&S game on Saturday and the North Africa campaign game on Sunday. Didn’t really had the time for painting either so I had to paint as much as I could force myself to in just a couple of days to be done with it all.

Oops, tänkte mig inte för, var övertygad om att detta var den svenska delen... sorry :-P

Anyway, I am painting like crazy here as well... decided to make a new Normandy table (28mm) countryside, painting zombies, painting for our warhammer village Eisende, planning Old West table and painting supplies and whatnots for that arghhhh.... naturally, there are also panzers, trucks, jeeps, germans, pulp figs, mordheim, monsters... *drowns in lead and paint*

I know how you feel. I'm working hard to finish some of my ongoing projects. My FoW Mid-War Afrika Korps army is almost finished. After that I will focus on By Fire and Sword so I can complete my cavalry regiment and buy and paint up a 3rd regiment so I have what's needed to play a basic sized game.

Also have a bunch of left over Gladiator miniatures and random weird models that I was going to use for Strange Aeons in my lead pile.
