Really like both of these... for some strange reason seeing the hex board and dice enhances the top image :)

The setting and composition in Valley's is splendid- the way it divides the figures into levels, the vertical weapons, and the skillful integration of the figures into the water. Well done!

I can only agree with the above comments! The game setting of the first entry works rather well and the scenery and little details (like the arrows in the shields) in the second entry is fantastic!

Gosh, I remember those rules, they have to be nearly 40 years old!

Ingenious, I think I will put something together like this for my river crossings.  I was very impressed.

well done Lazarus that's a clever way to showcase those 6mm figures

Ingenious idea Kerry. Lovely scenery too.

Thank you Richard but I can't really claim any credit for the idea having seen a picture  in the past on the web by Phil Olley of an ECW unit crossing a river and getting progressively deeper with less of the figure showing.

Trying to cram 10+ figs into an 800x800 frame is quite a challenge so the levels seemed like a good option. There is more to this, there is a waterfall to the left of the picture that I couldn't fit in >:(

I'm not sure that the orc bases (glued initially to acetate sheets - as in overhead projector sheets) haven't come out that well and  blended well- probably because I painted the underside dark  blue and then tried to lighten them (stoopid git idea I know lol) so eventually had to resort the painting the top surface
I cannot pretend to feel impartial about colours. I rejoice with the brilliant ones and am genuinely sorry for the poor browns. - Winston Churchill

actually ... the Isen-Ford setting is very well painted, but to be honest ... everyone who dares to paint 6mm minis is a must-vote for me (me getting even nervous while painting 15mm for DBA)  :o
Not to mention, that the Ford is a very good paint-job, too!!
