Some of them are quite nice, but I really wish they would get better paintjobs for their publicity shots.

I have some Blue Moon stuff, and it does paint nicely, so why not show it? The Alien troops there are completely lost under what looks like an eight year old's first bash with enamels.

Don't know about anyone else, but it puts me off buying them. I just don't get it.  :?:

I prefer these days to just see the bare figure with a wash. If you look at the recent thread and my questions on Tigerrminiatures, Tiger have some rough painting, some even part painted whilst Recreational conflict (kudos to them) have done the wash and the figures look all the better for it.

Old Glory UK have just started stocking Blue Moon models - hopefully they'll get these too as they're must haves!  I mave even have to delay my soon to be placed order for Musketeers and Cardinal's Guards so I can get some of these at the same time.

Werid- I just found a retro space rocket shaped drink bottle on the shelf at the local supermarket.  I think I'm being told something.

Amen! I could not agree more!
The whole marketing is even worse: Scott Pyle of Supersystem fame is currently working on the rules for these minis!
So Blue Moon is offering the minis in a crappy paintjob while the corresponding rulebook is not out yet!
I just do not get there marketing strategy... :?:

I have to agree that they would be better off showing them unpainted with a wash as in the good old days!
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - http://www.adpublishing.de

Maybe its part of their marketing strategy to have poorly painted figures, it makes us consumers think "Hell I can do a better job than that" so we go out and buy them to prove them that we are better painters ?

I expect they're trying to get in on the Fantastic Worlds / Retro Raygun / GAFDOZ craze.

Is anybody else reminded of Dan Dare with these figures?
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious!!
