Four A Sea Demons
« on: April 16, 2012, 12:08:28 AM »
Hi all - another week and another set of more detailed shots of my LPL entry.

Paul Muller Sea Demons from the excellent Four A Miniatures  8)

Any pointers on making a coastline for a gaming table so I can give these little chaps a home?  :D

 lol

Cool minis and great work Thantsants!  :-*
Really love the colour choice and some brilliant touch like the glossy black octopus. Top job!  8)
If I had to give you a criticism I'd say that the only thing that you could have done better is the light in the pics. A bit yellowish  :? But, for my experience, I perfectly know that taking pisc it's not easy.

Thanks Dr F. - they are lovely little minis.

This is what I was aiming for colour-wise

That would be a great game Engel - I pity the poor little fishes pitting themselves against those lovely orbs of destruction!

Thanks Faber - think you're right there about the yellowiness. Its self inflicted - I've been playing around with some of the effects on Picasa and quite like the 1960's effect. Bit too much here though in hindsight, might see about cleaning them up a bit.  ::)

Wow Dowvoovoo - not sure I've ever had that many smilies before - glad you like them!

Cheers Deafnala - I reckon if I don't get round to making them a beach they might well become little whatevers, swamp creatures or general pond life. :D

you got me Andy - didn't get the time I felt Piranha boy and the other demon deserved - They'll have to wait till the next three are released now  ;)

It took a bit of a search, but worth it. One of the Guy over on T.B.M.F. has a nice easy approach to the beach thingy:

You can find all sorts of cool ideas on JoaoS's thread here:

Nice one - thanks for taking the time Deafnala!  :)

The jungly bits have made me think of a Lustrian coastline and another possible scenario for the Magnificent Sven and his surviving band of adventurers. I can see them fighting a desperate rearguard against psycho, koka-chewing punk amazons/Slann slaving party/giant crabs/spiders/whatever other jungle nasties have chased them, whilst a raft is hastily lashed together - only to have these little fishy fellas stop by for a look-see...  >:D

Mind you, isn't that the sea-scape mat from Dreadfleet - this could get expensive...  ;)

The sea thingy as you said is from the Dread Fleet Game...I was thinking that a dyed/stained vinyl shower curtain might work as well.

There are series of Battle Reports on Tom's concerning a marooned Dwarven Crew battling their way through Lustria plus some Pirate Campaigns on the jungle coasts...all have some very nice terrain ideas. I'll see if I can get you some links.

TAH-DAH...that was easy enough; here's a link to the Dwarf adventure:
