Meanwhile, Somewhere in Wales
« on: April 17, 2012, 06:45:51 AM »
I played a couple of games of DBA this evening to try out the latest draft of the 3.0 rules. He played the Welsh. I tried invading with Anglo-Saxons and then the Irish.

A full report of the ensuing shenanigans can be found on my blog:

http://saskminigamer.blogspot.ca/2012/04/meanwhile-somewhere-in-wales.html

Here's a few pics of the action:

That's the Welsh out in the open and the English trying to work their way around some steep hills...

The battle kind of devolved into a couple of confused drunken brawls on the flanks...

Ultimately the invading Anglo-Saxons were obliged to retire.

In Game Two the Welsh parked on top of one of said steep hills and waited for the Irish to come to them.

After some mad skirmishing on the flanks...

...the Irish marched up the hill and gave those Welshmen a sound thrashing! Huzzah! Then made off with their goats and women!

Given that you mentioned the goats first, I gather they were the more attractive option? Specially after a drunken brawl?  lol

BTW, very nice.

I looked and I looked again.
Where are the goats and the women? ;D
I did see some fine looking figures.
Thanks for sharing.
