Sorry to keep this going. I'm showing friends a game of Heart of Africa so if anyone has those rules on animals handy that would be splendid as i'd like to throw a Croc/Hippo into the mix [Congo]

As most of my games are skirmish of all sizes with a bit of role play thrown in, I do like to keep the lads on their toes and was wondering the same thing myself. I've got a copy of Mammalian Mayhem and a long time ago there was a set of rules in Wargames illustrated by Howard Whitehouse, I think titled "The Lion Eats Tonight". Again a dedicated Big Game Hunt but very entertaining. Still haven't found a system that works easily for Random encounters and suchlike. So if anybody out there... I'd be mighty grateful

Do you mean these http://www.wargamesillustrated.net/Default.aspx?tabid=292&art_id=3113? The random events are for the published rules, which are different from the free ones on the website. I'm not sure how different they are so don't know if the random events would work with them, but I'm pretty sure they would.

The Rules are "hidden" under In Darkest Africa - Part One. Download and print page 7 and then pages 9-13 for quite a bloody and effective little set of skirmish rules.
