Close call here!

I think Orctrader's glowing terrain made the difference.  :D

I really like that undersea scene, very imaginative and lusciously painted!

Orctrader, fantastic painting, that evil fellow in red... stunning work on the eyes. You handled that malevolent glow really well.

Greetings

ah the other half of the CiC Set. I do love the eyes of the fellow in red. And The Husk looks creepily good too (but so does mine, hehe). I'm really fond about the way the evil Professor came out. You made a much better attempt then me. Not really convinced by the terrain though. The walls are overly bright and the greenery too intensive IMHO. But I like this picture nonless ;)

I look at the Jules Verne picture and it still makes me smile, the fellow posing in the midst of a gaggle of mermaids. I just recognized the palmtrunk-thing (yes, I know there are no palms on the bottom of the sea, duh) as painter's tape  :D What a marvelous idea

thanx for the kinds comments. Yes I think, too, that Orctrader has some cool stuff top there!
However, I do not think it's the background, it's the minis  :-*

What I think is funny, too, that in most cases from the first 10 or 20 votings, the outcome is relativly stable/fix (view of percentage, that is). I had observed veryoften now.

the eyes are cool indeed, but I also like the trousers of that fellow to the left. And I can almost feel the material (well ... that does not mean, I want to touch them buddies in RL :?) of these guys. Excellent paint-job.
I am sad, that "my" boobs are not enough!  :D

I originally tried to make some "James Bond" feeling out of it, but I did not find a simple title to have that. Bond, Pussy Galore and the evil enemy in the background.

Speaking of terrain  ... folkes ... it's obvious that for the photo-session they came up surface! fools!  ;)

best wishes and thanx again!  ;D

Of course its the minis  >:D That's what we are talking here. I just mean that -for me, in *this* picture-, I'm not really convinced about the terrain. That doesn't make the painting of the minis less or bad.

Aah ... you had me fooled there with flowing hair and all  ;D Now at a third look (not at the boobs *g*) I see that there is some waterline. Hmm ... ah well, for me it still looks as it is underwater  lol

I had already admired the fantastic Jules Verne picture in the last round. Painting is really extraordinary and I also like the miniatures. BRILLIANT! The figures of Orctrader are likewise magnificent painted, unfortunately the bright background disturb the tendency of the miniatures somewhat.

The tentacled one... where does it come from?

Thanks for the comments.   :)

Drachenklinge - I salute you.  Fine painting, excellent base work.   :)

Talking of base work, where do the "bits" come from?  Bought or made?

well ... technically speaking there is nothing self-made of any sort. It is cork, sand, some real fossiles* (they just looked cool enough, so I used them ^^), 2 or 3 real little snail-houses and some decoration-pearls from these ... dunno a good translation ... "sefmade-jewelry"-stores. The violett sponges are the same on the other side, I just jammed them deep enough into the sand/cork mixture.
The algae from the figure-head is some simple tissue, drenched in coloured washes and woodglue, then draped most dramatically where I wanted it. Afterwards I put on some more green and blue wash in certain places to emphasize some areas and/or effects.

best wishes

I still love your entry Drachenklinge, I didn't realise they had come to the surface either, but it makes sense now. The Chaos in Cairo fellows are fantastic as well and I especially live the banshee/with model, very cool and creepy :D

thanx for the kind words! as for the surface thing ... actually I didn't thought that much about it, these palms where simply the closest terrain to "water" I had, and I did not want to spent more space for the blue. Maybe should have  :?

I thought about photographing it in front of a friend's fish-tank ... but the little buggers inside where way tooo tricky to paint (and even more complicated to dry ^^). Last but not least, these friends objected, anyway ... beat me, dunno why!!

However - thanx for this round, too! Exciting as usual!

best wishes  :-*
