  • Cannister gun - a heavy shotgun with a built-in compressed air reservour - better range and hitting power than a normal shotgun

Is it zero G? That's going to have serious recoil issues...
So many projects..... so little time.......

Not zero G, bur reduced G certainly. However, using compressed air instead of an explosive propellant will help in that respect... and its not that big a bore weapon

Some other suggestions,
Exploding projectiles, either an electrical pulse or a chemical explosion.
Gyro pistol firing rocket propelled bullets, they did not work that well in real life but hey this is VSF.
Small recoilless rifles, firing rockets.
Electric powered rail guns, shooting a small but dense and very fast projectile.

Something has to be steam powered through.   Maybe an electric eel launcher.  lol

Among your first aid kit should be duct tape, to fix the tears in the suit.   lol

Sounds like it will be fun.

Bullshott: Who makes those deep sea divers? I would love to get my hands on some.

I could have gone all day without having to try to make one.

I hope you're happy.

The divers are by Scheltrum: http://www.scheltrum.co.uk/

They come in packs of 4 random figures, usually 2 divers with guns and 2 divers with close combat weapons.

See also my thread here on the VSF board for Red Coats in Space, where I'll be adding more photos soon.

Froggy, does that mean you are now going to try to make a steam powered electic eel launcher?  If so, then yes I am happy ;D

I meant it as a joke.  Everybody knows electric eels are used more properly as batteries not as weapons.

Air gun has almost the same issues; I'd be surprised if a powder weapon isn't used. Just think of something like a compensator, which vents gas upward to keep the barrel down, and, instead, vents rearward. Take care lest your singe your mustache.

Why not have something that combines some of these ideas together? Spring loaded pistols or rifles that fire small chemical explosives or just plain sharp projectiles?
