HERE WE STAND - Impetus on Bear Island
« on: May 04, 2012, 12:41:41 PM »
Hi,

currently i'm working on an Impetus-army based on the novels "a song of ice and fire" by G.R.R. Martin.

My focus is House Mormont of Bear Island. House Mormont is located in the north-west of Westeros and is sworn to House Stark of Winterfell.
Their blazon is a black bear over a green background and their motto is "here we stand".

Yesterday i just finished the first base for the pikemen.

On my blog: http://www.hvm-workbench.blogspot.de/ you can find bigger pictures of the miniatures.

Really really good.

You can't beat Impetus for making game units that look really impressive.

Superb stuff, and an inspired use of the good old Perry plastic WotR figures.

VERY WELL DONE! The brushwork, especially the highlighting, & basing are EXCEPTIONAL. I'm not familiar with the rule system, but the modeling potential of the base sizes speaks well for them.

Extremely nice  :)

Not overly keen on the Wargames Factory vikings. Or the Gripping Beast ones for that matter, but these heads work well on the Perry bodies. But I like the Perry heads with added hair best of all.

Did you use green stuff to sculpt the added hair and fur collars? I had it in mind to do something very similar with House Lannister, having been inspired by Frank's GOT entries in the last two Lead Painters' Leagues...

Will Ser Jorah ever make it back to Westeros and Bear Island? Only two more books (or about 15 years) and we might know the answer!

My bet is, he does. But George does have that habit of killing off main characters at the most unexpected moments  ::)
