15mm Khurasan Cultists and Friends
« on: May 05, 2012, 04:22:24 PM »
I have never worked on any 15mm figures, but Khurasan's fantastic eldritch miniatures made me lose some sanity points
and I bought some.

The Horrorclix figures look huge next to them, which works well.  Now I need to get some Deep Ones, gangsters and cops.

I checked out your blog.  You have some great stuff there.  I look forward to seeing your miniatures for the Strange Aeons game.

Khurasan has really been making some great 15's.
Almost makes me want to go to the dark side.  :D

Really nice paintjobs.  Fantastic work.  :-*

Look great! Copplestone & Khurasan has really gotten me into 15's.
I am looking for the following Deadlands minis:  Shotgun Thug, Lost Soul, Cleaners, Railroad Workers & Feral Dead. If you have any of these minis, or if you are one, please send me a PM.

The Copplestone 15mm figures do look great. Then again, so do the 10mm figures.  Copplestone does amazing work.

That's a nice horde of tentacley people... I see you did what I did, and bought one set each of rifles and tridents.  I only ever got around to painting two of them though.  No excuse there, since 15's are a lot easier to paint a whole bunch of.

Also, their "pet" is, well, ghastly, but I like it!

Well, your bases are superbly detailed, while mine are non-existent!  I can see why you only got around to 2.
Great work, by the way.  I look forward to seeing the rest of them.

Sorry, I have no blog address.  I will eventually be starting a thread here on Mythos gaming in 15mm.  I am working on a bunch of figures and terrain at the moment in that scale.

The bases are just punched out from clear protective sleeves using a round hole puncher.  A friend pointed out that the bases looked a bit big
and that they make smaller hole punchers, so I've re-based those 15mm minis on 3/4" circular bases.

If you want to spend more money than you really need to, you can buy nice clear acrylic bases like this.  I know Fenris Games sell them on eBay; they're likely available elsewhere too.

I'm friends with Annerios, and we have worked on various projects together. For the bases, we wanted an inexpensive base, which is why we decided to make our own. I have a tutorial on my (mostly inactive) blog here:

http://teumessa.blogspot.com/2012/01/tutorial-clear-bases.html

I actually prefer our bases, which are very thin, to the commercial ones. Of course, heavier figures that need to be pinned will do better with the commercial Litko, Fenris (and etc) bases that you mentioned.
