The wolves look great. :-*

They are definitely one of the Horrorclix line's stronger sculpts.

You have made good use of them.  :D

Thanks.  I'm happy that I will also be able to use the wolves for my Lycaon faction in Empire of the Dead.  Multi-purpose is a great thing.

I think I'm done with my conversions for now, so I might actually be able to paint some original items.  I've got a partially complete squad of Nazi troopers (cultists) that I put together as a Lurker list for Strange Aeons, and who also appear in a Kulten cult list.  I'll probably paint up the zombies and mad scientist that make up the other half of that Kulten list.

I may also need some more Threshold agents.  One of the models on my list is probably not going to make it through my next game...

Well it's not figures, but it's something.  I finally finished up all of the markers I had on my paint station from last month.  Here are the three that are themed for Strange Aeons / Empire of the Dead.

RIP grave marker from the Horrorclix starter set.

Large grave marker, also from the Horrorclix starter set.

A sarcophagus, also from Horrorclix.  This one was actually part of a figure.  The mummy walking out of it was awful, so I popped it off and here we go...grave marker.

Note, I really need to start waiting until daytime to take my pictures.  I apologize for how awful these look.

I like the new additions, obsidian3d.
Nice work.

like I said before, I really appreciate being pointed towards the Horrorclix stuff, as it is much better than I expected.
Since yourself and a few others have posted them I have ordered quite a few including the starter box.
Having seen the result you have gotten from these I am glad I did.

If only I could pick up a Horrorclix Cthulhu for less than US $100. I'm dying to convert it.

Anyway Obsidian, your latest batch is cracking. Well done.

Thanks everyone.

The Horrorclix Cthulhu is a great looking piece.  I have one myself, but he sadly needs some repair work.  My cat knocked him off a large shelf and his wings broken off.  I'm still not quite sure how to go about fixing that... :(

Once again you have made really good use of the Horrorclix line.

Who said mini war gaming was expensive?  :D

I'm pretty much done with my Horrorclix conversions for now.  There are a few other items I can use but they're low on my priority list.  I really need to get going and finish up my Nazi troopers.  They've been half painted for a few weeks now!

Ok I lied...here's another Horrorclix figure.  It'll be the last one for a while, honest!

Cthulhu Avatar

This one turned out alright, but I'm not as happy with it as I'd hoped.  I did two green washes on it, some dry brushing and a finishing gloss varnish to get it all shiny.  It looks better than the original paint job, but after all the work probably not different enough to really wow me. I think the biggest thing I don't like about it is the base.  I had a lot of trouble with it and I don't like the gravel next to the big rocks.  I thought about putting some static grass on to cover it up, but decided it would just make it worse.

I'll probably use this guy as a godling or something, even though his base is tiny.  I just liked the model and wanted to make use of it somewhere, rather than leave it lying in my box of Horrorclix.

I think he looks great as to the markers! My guys would be running like hell if they saw that green guy walking towards them!
