Just checked out your Photo Albums on Fotki.  That stuff is brilliant!  :o  Love your Blacksmith and Towne Gate! I do a decent model when I put my mind to it (I should, after nearly 50 years of mucking about!) but these put most of mine to shame.
Well done!

Forgot some questions!

What are you using for reference/inspiration?
Whose civilian minis (innkeeper, maid, etc.) are they?
Whose figures did you use for the winged statues on the Tower of Albion?

Noticed your "mason's mark" (JJC) on a couple of buildings...nice idea!

Cheers!

Aweswome, thanks for taking the time to look.
I do put my initials in alot of stuff. I also put the year, kind of, VIII for 2008, VI for 2006 etc. There just isn't enough room for the full roman numeral.

Anyhow, I just scour the internet for inspirations. Alot of times, it will be something from a building that I like, and can mix that with something else. I've done some reading on medieval life, and medieval towns, and get alot of ideas from that, like livestock all over town, or droppings in the street.

The mini's I use for the peasants are usually Reaper Townsfolk.

I like Reaper mini's because they are geared more towards characters than armies, which means they work better in terrain situations. I really have little need for a building with an axe swinging barbarian in front of it. However, a peasant with a farming tool...

The angels on the wlven tower are also mostly from reaper, although one of them is from warmaster with some bird wings glues onto the back of him.

Thanks for showing intrest, and more is on the way!

For rain in pcs, I'd try some kind of clear plastic sheet with lines marked on it for the rain - and maybe some dark backdrop.... but you'd have to be very carefuil about the light....
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
