out of interest, when did tail docking start?

How long have humans enjoyed cruelty to animals?

Romans did it because they thought it, ahaha, curtailed the risk to catch rabies.

I have just bought some German Shepards from Ebob- They are very well sculpted, but oddly don't come with a base or a tab so I will have to work out how to attach them to a base as their paws are too small to pin.

Depends on the breed. Some dogs tails were docked to prevent them fouling the harness on a cart, others for fighting reasons. Now it seems to be a bad tradition carried on by the kennel clubs who "dock" points for an un-docked tail at someshows. Thanks for all the info posted for 28mm dogs, I see some orders when funds permit.

On the subject of post-apocalyptic dogs, Hyacinth Games have progressed far enough beyond Kickstarters to produce a set of three apparently somewhat ticked off curs. The one in the pic -- didn't try to find one that shows all of 'em -- looks positively mean at the very least:

Our Jack Russell has her tail docked - I understand it's only allowed on working dogs and she was supposed to be a "ratter" on a farm. She just hasn't got the temprament, however, which is why we've ended up with her. She still sniffs out the hedgehogs in the garden but just barks until we tell her she's a good girl nd goes off all pleased!
Can't see a 28mm Jack Russell anywhere otherwise I'd put her in my forthcoming game as a distraction, wanting everyone to come and play with her.

The yellow one does look rather weird, but for the others I think it's partly the painjobs that are to blame. The rearing one from the earlier pic doesn't look quite as bad.

"Rogin shibols" produces a "fearless, cigar-smoking war-bulldog" that would go with some of the sillier stuff shown in this thread if one was inclined towards that direction. Not sure if you can get one without the characteristically overwrought "ladies" tho.

And no, I have no idea how you get a dog to smoke. I know you can get them to drink whisky but that's not the same thing.

Well, you can even make them surf (in a competition, no less!) but I'm still not sure about smoking. And regardless, I definitely don't recommend anyone tries to make the pooch at home do it o_o
