Testing, testing, one, two, three battles
« on: June 07, 2012, 06:48:20 PM »

First of all, thank you to Capt B for explaining how to do this forum thing. Would not have had a clue without his intro.

My first post. Yorkist battle line laid out on my play room floor. I am mainly in this for the painting as I find it a great way to de-stress from real life.

I am currently working on the Lancastrians to face them although I have, like many by the sounds of things, become distracted by the mounted men at arms set. So it would appear my Lancastrians will be supported by some serious heavies. I feel a Blore Heath situation coming on.

I have based my figures in fives to keep them feeling like individuals on 60 x 40mm bases. This gives them a tight packed ranks feel. Flags are all over-painted Freezywaters.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

Great to share these with the world. So far only me, the wife and my uninterested teenage daughter have ever clapped eyes on them!! Here are the opposition. A couple of small contingents - Northumberland and Dacre plus Exeter and Welles. Also some work in progress on a couple of boxes of those distracting MMAA. I fear I have over done the armoured horses so the third box will be all unbarded to make up for it. Also plan to work on arrow volley casualty lines to be left in the wake of my advancing battles.

A few more old Yorkists. Hastings is my favourite Yorkist unit. Abergavenny’s lot is a slightly smaller 30 man retinue.

Wow, a most impressive array - they look great. Nice large battles  - just as medieval armies should look.

Thanks for sharing,
Simon.
