"The Last of Us" Trailer
« on: June 10, 2012, 09:49:26 PM »
Hey all! Apologies if this is the wrong forum area, but thought it should fit in pretty well here.

Thought people might be interested in this trailer of a game called 'The Last of Us', shown recently at E3. Should be good for some inspiration - the first few minutes are a couple of scavengers moving through a flooded and overgrown ruined cityscape, and the last few minutes is a fairly visceral fight with some raider-types.

In case anyone plays videogames, it's made by the guys who did Uncharted, so might be quite good when it's finally done!

Just though people would appreciate the visuals!

Fairly visceral?   :o

Seems that way.   :-I

Hopefully more adventure oriented in the core of the game.

Gracias,

Glenn

Wow!  Is that intense game-play!  It's almost disturbing in its realism...won't stop me from playing it, though.  I am a sucker for post-apoc games.   :o  :)

I know what you mean about the combat - the way the people respond is almost disturbingly lifelike  :?

Uncharted was full of exploration and set pieces though, so I'm hoping it might be more like that throughout - I imagine scenes like this would be really draining, if they happened often...

I really like all the details, with the cracked flooded streets and buildings. I hope those dudes that he was bashing about were some baddies and not just some random scavengers from the local farm collective   lol
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

This could almost convince me to get in stuff like this. The enviroment and everything looks really great.
Tintin - Pulp Adventures in a orderly fashion
Gallows Falls - Western Village
Eisende - Mordheim costal village WIP
Rome - SPQR & Hail Caesar

Hope the rest of the gameplay is like this!  It'll be on my 'to buy' list for sure.

I think its worth revealing that there are other trailers on this game, and other Humans aren't the only thing your going to be faced with which might try and kill you.

In one trailer after the big guy belts his way through a few scavengers they get chased down by these mysterious Ghoulish, humanoid creatures. They aren't alien by looks, but rather infected humans who've undergone some serious mutation! I'd say even slightly similar to LAM zombie tye monsters.
