Hi I'm working on the fantasy hack for the SAGA game, here's my starting warband of the dwarves:

HI, I'm doing a fantasy mode with new fantasy boards(mashing up the old ones and adding something new).
There will be dwarfs, halflings, elves, barbarians(conanesque) warbands. Still have no idea how to implement magic.

For magic, you could include it in the abilities?

As for the magic, It'll be included in the abilities, with a score counter like that in the Jomsvikings.

I played a SAGA game with a buddy last week. Goblins against Dwarves. Was a good game and "felt right". I was the pesky Goblins, forcing him to chase me around the trees and hills while I tried to overwhelm straggling Dwarf units.

We used the battleboards made up by the fellow on this german blog: (the boards are in english)

Hit "← Ältere Beiträge" at the bottom to go back and see older posts with all the boards he has done so far. He is only missing Elves as far as I can see.

He did not have any complex magic rules, and I was ok with that. Effects like that were more built into the battleboard abilities themselves. That may or may not be to your liking. 

Let us know what boards you use and how your fights turn out!

Thanks, as for the battleboards, the're still in the making. As soon as I'm at least partially satisfied with them I'll post them here.
