Unarmored or Lightly Armored Samurai 28mm or 15mm Figures?
« on: June 13, 2012, 03:06:50 PM »
I have the excellent Samurai Wars Street Thugs of Edo pack, but are there any other unarmored or lightly armored Samurai-era warriors in either 28mm or 15mm?  Metal or plastic are both fine.

Thanks!

The Perrys do one set in everyday clothes:

There's also a walking Samurai without armour in the SAM51 Town People set, but no photo on their homepage.  :?

Black Hat do some nice ones, as do Museum Miniatures - both in 28mm. Also check out the newish 15mm ones from Museum, they are lovely.

If you can wait I'll be bringing out a range of Edo period figures, the vast majority of which will be unarmoured  :)

And if your on the Perry site, check out the Ikko-Ikki & Armed Monks, there should be some likely candidates

Had a look at them last Saturday at a show, yes they are  :)

Yup I picked up a couple of packs for bandits for my Seven Samurai Project.

Others Dixon do some nice Ronin (check my other threads on Samurai) Black hat do some nice characterful sculpts which I have all now, good for bandits and Ronin.

Museum are good for retainers and the like

All in good time chaps, all in good time  ;)

Seriously though, there's a lot to plan out (it's a far more detailed period than you first think) and the finances have to be sorted also but (and this is a big but) we're probably looking at late autumn/early winter for a first, decent sized release.

I can't attest to the quality of these, but eventually I plan on picking some up.
