Yep, I've been watching this as well. A great idea for a programme and some interesting ideas for scenarios.

I'd recommend the James McGee books as well. Especially for the more fantastical approach.

I've been watching this as well - quite interesting.

Did anyone else think that this last episode should have been shown first? They appeared vto be just recruiting the constables permanently at the end of this episode but we had seen them all throughout the series.

For some great books covering the period, try the "Sir John Fielding Mysteries" by Bruce Alexander -- excellent stories and fun to mine for scenarios.

I noticed that too, strange, perhaps it means there will be another series as the shoot outs at the end looked good. Hope so

Yep, I has been an interesting series. I like the way they showed Old London with a map fading into 3d models then into the sets. Lots sof scenario potential. :)
I also think Ian McDiarmid has a great sounding voice, trouble is I always associate him with Star Wars now!

I'm going to have to wait until this shows up in the DVD catalog or Netflix, aren't I?  :(

Outpost Wargame Services has Bow Street Runners in their redone Highwaymen range. Not having seen this program, I have no idea if they'll work or not.

They could be used as Bow stret runners but technically pre date them being Thief Takers, hired men used to get back the stolen goods (black mailers so they lead us to believe in the series).

As for figures I think some of the Foundry 18th century smugglers and civilians would be ideal or any men with cudgels, pistols etc would do

Bit of Threadomancy

Been watching this again while painting (damn even ordered the Blue moon Duelists as a result and after a topic on smugglers on SD Forum) and found the online game I missed when it was released....enjoy
