Thanks magokiron, Mason, robh, Doomhippie, & Lowtardog!  :D

Apparently I'm my own worst critic.  ;D

They are pretty cool figures.
They probably don't hold up to modern standards but there's a certain charm to them as well as a lot of "older" miniature lines.

I really like your Alternative Armies figures. Great paint job and they have bags of character.

I am not sure about the 'Not the greatest figures, or paint jobs' bit, both look pretty good to me.

If that is the result of a quick paintjob, I envy you.

I agree...Great Minds again. If they are not state of the art minis that only makes the LOVELY brushwork you graced them with all the more remarkable. VERY WELL DONE!

Not familiar with the range but I actuall really like  them - very characterful wild men!

Nice work with the old paint brush too

Those are really good. I thought I was the only one who actually likes the look AA got to the Erin range.
A sadly under-rated game IMHO.

I keep finding myself drawn to them too! If it wasn't for that HUGE pile of Celtos I have...

Is there a game too? Any good?

Great painting, BTW!

Very good. Smaller bands than Celtos and less involved. Ideal for small skirmish games with limited numbers of figures. 8 or 10 troops is enough for a game.

When AA launched the 2nd edition there was a participation game around the UK shows that was beautiful. Only small (3ft x3ft IIRC) Green meadow, little river, waterfall, lots of flowers and plants, small animals.....a real work of art.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.  :D

I'm really tempted to start a Conan / Hyperborean  adventures project now!

That's interesting, I never knew Alternative Armies came up with their own ruleset. They sound pretty cool.
I like the Celtos line of miniatures as well.

Here's a few more figs I painted a few years ago.
Some of them were used in the last bat rep.

Hope you like them.  :D

Very nice, you have worked some excellent poses in there. I like the dark colour palette, suits them well.

So I've been really inspired by some of the old school miniature projects I have seen going on here.

There's something really cool about finding an old neglected miniature and giving it a little TLC.
So I've been checking ebay a lot and doing some bidding, only to watch the sale prices sore out of control.

Recently I bid on some miniatures and actually won the bid! The photo was pretty horrible. I could barely make out slotta's so I assumed most of them where old GW. I counted maybe 60 miniatures in the picture.

I figured "What the hell, I'm in a gambling mood" and bid on them, even though I couldn't really see what they were.

This is what I got:

I PULLED THE PHOTOS. NEXT TIME YOU SEE ANY OF THEM THEY WILL BE PAINTED ON THIS THREAD OR ARRIVING AT YOUR DOORSTEP.

What a haul! 100 plus, totally awesome miniatures. It's amazing what fun and funky miniatures GW used to make. I really lucked out on this purchase!

I'm really going to enjoy painting these fellows.

I can't believe my luck!

A verry juicy haul there, if you paid less than 3 figures for them then you got a bargain. In case you don't know, the ape like figure is an original limited release 'Jokaero'.

Cheers!
