Michi's Aeronefs
« on: July 11, 2012, 08:21:36 PM »
Some Aeronefs finished, at last!

First, my Martian squadron, consisting of the gunboats Hyäne, Panther, Vega and Sirius, and second the cruiser Emden. I've modified the latter a bit, as I consider the funnels of the original model to be set apart too much. And while I was at it, I've added the wings to the bridge, too.

I hope you like them!

They look great, but the Emden should have one more funnel to match its patron ;)

Nicely done. Always great to see beautifully painted Aeronef's.

Thak you very much, guys.
Such praise makes my blush... almost!  ;)

True enough, HG, and there would be space enough for a third funnel, too. But two is enough for her, three would probably be too much. And I'm not trying to turn her into the real world SMS Emden, after all, she is supposed to stay an aeronef, indeed!

Well, Diakon, why not simply get some? A starter pack, e.g., isn't that expensive after all.

Yet another rule set I rarely find players to trounce me.

At least, unlike Full Thrust, the few times I'm able to get a game set up, we aren't constant hearing passerby's saying 'Oh yeah, that's a great game. I always had a lot of fun with that...' and then, nothing.

Aeronef doesn't have the history locally. I'm not constantly getting my hopes up for naught.

Hmmm... well, that's an issue I'll have to address some day, too...

As I'm not looking for the big battles and my favourite location is Mars I was thinking of a bit of solo gaming for the start. The opponents would be martian pirates which I'd play with a reaction table like the aerofauna in the Captain's Handbook or the beasts in Tusk. I suppose pirates would act rather independently than in a ranged battle, even if they have several ships, thus the reaction table seems a feasable solution.

What might come afterwards, I don't know either, but hey! Hoarding the miniatures is my main target, anyway!  ;)
