Ruleboocks por cthulhu miniatures games?
« on: July 17, 2012, 04:24:22 AM »
Hello.
I have a question, what rulebock do you use for play cthulhu with miniatures?
Do you use te RPG bock, but you add miniatures plus the paper, pencil and dices? or you use another bock.
Thank you!

By far, the most popular ruleset is Strange Aeons.

Uncle Mike is a good bloke as well.  :D

I don't know of anyone that's using Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu RPG rules for their mini games.

Other options I can think of off the top of my head are .45 Adventure and Astounding Tales.

On a side note, you are from Argentina.

Cool.  8)

I'm obligated to put in a plug for Strange Aeons!  The stats can be converted relatively easily.  Not a definitive guide, but with appropriate scaling I'd imagine STR -> A, CON -> Con., SIZ -> W, DEX -> Dex., SAN -> Res. would make sense.  The only stat CoC doesn't cover is Movement, but you can generally class most things as slow (4), average (5) or fast (6+).  Skills present a bit of a challenge, as most CoC skills are knowledge based, while Strange Aeons skills are primarily combat-oriented.

I should also mention having had considerable success in the past using Savage Worlds combat rules for CoC campaigns.  Just substitute the "Guts" skill for Sanity and off you go.  You can also use Savage Worlds for the RPG aspect of your game if you're looking for a pulpier experience than traditional CoC offers.

There's also Mythos Miniatures based on the Dr Who Miniatures Game engine:
