Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter review
« on: July 20, 2012, 11:30:48 AM »
Went and saw this earlier this week with a friend. It has just recently hit Swedish cinema's.
I was hoping for a good B movie, but sadly left the cinema thinking it was a rather mediocre movie with some good bits thrown into it.

I did get some inspiration for modelling 19th century stuff for Empire of the Dead though, that's always something.

Saw it liked it, plenty of ideas for pre and post ACW.  I'm not sure what people expect from a movie these days.  Good acting?  Characterisation?  A story?  Come on, all your going to get is CGI and slo-mo fight sequences so don't have such ridiculous expectations.   ;)

It was entertaining, but rather disjointed.  There were a lot of questions unanswered about the vampire's abilities, motivations and stuff like that.  I was hoping for more... Yes you read that right, I had higher expectations than what I got out of a movie with that title. :P

You know, at first I thought this movie was a joke (I mean, with that title...  ::) ).
When it turned out to be real, I thought it'd be some amateur homemovie.
So since it's a "real" movie, I'd say it already exceeded my expectations even though I haven't seen it.  8)

I really enjoyed the book so I can't wait to see it... the writer also took care of the screenplay so it should live up to my expactations...

It was great fun! The train scene was excellent.

But now your expectations have risen so when you final DO see it...

Oh, never mind.  :D

Not sure when I'll be going to the movie, but the local Hot Topic already had t-shirts on massive discount, so I've already got some of my duds for my store's table at the next Zombie Festival. Those, and the 'You're lucky Zombies only eat people with brains' button.

That should give some warm fuzzies, no?
