Thanks Andy... No, just the shoulders and the hair.

The Conquest Games medieval archers set really does have some great faces in it.
It's a shame that's really the only good thing about the set, alas :(

Another portly peasant to add to the motley collection of followers...

Perry HYW French body, English longbowmen arms with sledgehammer, a Fireforge resin head (Kiev Militia spears) and a Green Stuff belly and cowl...

Thanks for posting your work it is inspirational. I like Butcher Bob in particular. The Kiev militia bits look really characterful I'll get myself some, I'd not seen them before.

Some nice characterful conversions in the last few pages. Impatient for the painted versions.

Okay, another thread which has languished unloved for the last couple of years, while Game of Thrones, Twilight of Britannia, World War II and (FFS) 15mm Copplestone fantasy have been my drugs of choice…

But a forthcoming game with LAF chums has tempted me back into it, following my plan of giving each of my feudal knights a characterful little retinue of their own… So here, after rather a long delay, are Aylward the archer and Crispin the spearman, the hired help of Sir Renaud de Brassey.

See page 16 of this thread onwards for the build details, and genesis of this idea, but in summary...

Each retinue will have an archer, a spearman and a peasant, as well as a mounted and dismounted version of each knight. It’s a bit of an attempt to recapture the fun of ‘Cry Havoc’ for those who are old enough to recall that excellent boardgame…

You’ll note I haven’t painted Sir Renaud’s peasant (Bob the baker) yet, ‘cos I don’t need him yet! But I will.

And here are Aylward and Crispin with the mounted and dismounted incarnations of Sir Renaud himself…

I have also boshed together another retinue from assorted parts… This will be the fine body of men in the service of Sir William Le Singe, knight bachelor...

Guillame the spear, Francon the bowman, and Bob the brewer.

You will note that so far all the peasants are called Bob... Bob the baker, Bob the butcher, Bob the builder and now Bob the brewer…
Well, it keeps me amused  :D

The Perry arms on those Fireforge bodies really do the trick. They end up looking a lot more naturally posed.
