Greetings Lead Adventurers!

Long time reader, first time poster on the forums. I have seen so many wonderful and inspiring things in the medievals section of this forum, that I felt like finally saying so while also offering up some of my own work for your viewing pleasure. I have recently gotten into the Perry plastic medievals, and despite my usual reservations about plastic figures, working with these ones has been a lot of fun. Here are my recent efforts: I constructed a mounted command base of Edward IV for my Yorkist forces.

Here is a link to my blog post with a couple more shots: http://bellulula.blogspot.com/2012/08/edward-iv-mounted-and-perry-plastics.html

If you like what you see, look around at some of the other posts. There are more pictures of medieval figs to be found, including pictures of the aforementioned Yorkist army.

Thanks again to the contributors on this forum for posting up pictures of your work. It is always inspiring and exciting to see what other enthusiasts are working on.

Cheers!

Not long ago I was seated in the beer garden of the Mortimer's Cross Inn with some very good friends and some very good French lager. Though it was sunny, there weren't three suns in the sky. Nonetheless I thought of Edward, Earl of March. Nice one.

The Cross is much nicer than it used to be, by the way. It used to be a bit of a dive, but they've really tarted it up. Usually I prefer a dive over a modern ponced-up gastric pub, but in this case it actually is an improvement, as the old Cross was pretty horrible.

Very cool. Is this an official figure or a conversion?

Very nice indeed!

What's he based for?

Are all bases round, or just command bases?

Thanks,
MW

A real beauty. Great work. Never attempted gold plate personally. Think you nailed it.

@CyberAlien: All the figures are cobbled together from the the Perry plastics sets: I am pretty sure Edward is only made up of the Mounted MAA pack and the Mercenaries pack. Of course, with judicious cutting it is easy to modify the given pieces specific poses that you want.

@MW: All of my WotR figures are based for playing the Piquet family of wargames. There's no standard for command bases. My foot commands (including one for Edward--check the blog if you want to see some examples) are all on 40mm squares so they fit into the units effectively. Honestly, I just thought for the little command vignette I had in mid that it would look nice on a big circle base.

The gold plate of course may be a bit far-fetched, of course, but it is nice to have a larger-than-life figure like Ned IV really stand out on the table.

Cheers!
