Warfare League of Augsburg Infantry Firing Line
« on: August 05, 2012, 08:00:01 PM »
28mm infantry firing line for the 1680's/1690's, sculpted by Clibinarium, and due for release later this month or in September :

Warfare also have a massive release of late C17th cuirassiers slated for September, with just about every conceivable combination of armour and headgear imaginable. No pics yet, but they should begin to appear pretty soon.

Arthur,

Do you happen to know how these scale up against Copplestone and or Ebor?
Em dezembro de '81

E no Rio não tem outro igual

E agora seu povo

Here's a comparison pic nicked from the JacobiteIrish blog. Left to right : Front rank, Warfare, North Star/ex-Copplestone. Don't have any Ebor figures, but I suspect they'd be in-between Warfare and North Star size and heft-wise.

Can't take the credit for these three, I'm afraid, as I didn't paint them  ;)

They're Pete's work, from the Irish Army of James II blog (see link above), and I just hotlinked the comparison pic. I know there are a couple of others floating around on the net, but I can't seem to recall where I saw them.

And contrary to what I wrote above, the firing line figures aren't by Clibinarium : Barry Hilton apparently used another sculptor for these -  Clibinarium told me so himself on the Steve Dean forum.

Not completely sold on these figures I must admit. Love the North Star range. Love the Front Rank range. Quite taken by the Ebor range, although i haven't seen them in the flesh. But these look a little... I don't know... Flat? Stiff? Old-fashioned?  :?
Not really to my taste anyway, although I'm sure there will be people who like the style.
