Traveller Imperial Marines

Not a forum I normally tread into, but these are some miniatures I recently finished for a commission.  I have a few more shots on my blog.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons,
for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

They are fantastic  :-*

Like Earther, sold mine off years ago (and much more besides). Many regrets.  Luckily I kept all the small format books :)

Always thought they were one of the best space armor figures made - and totally true to the Traveler's Digest illustrations.  Good to see them (and they are really hard to find nowadays),

Those marines are proper 'old school' in a cool way  :-*.

I remember seeing some like them in a very old issue of White Dwarf and could never work out where they came from. Were these ones made by GW or by a different company (I am sure GW used to make the 15mm Traveller minis)?

For anyone looking for some proxies, the nearest I can think of is the GZG:

... but they are nowhere near as good.

I think RAFM made the original 25's. Martian Metals made the 15mm.

However, I think Citadel licensed both, and I'm pretty certain did such a much better on casting the 15's, that people would always be disappointed to hear the ones I had were MM.

By the way, I get very confused when talking GW, Citadel, and Marauder...

Citadel actually had their own 15mm Traveller sculpts, though I think they also distributed the MM ones as well.  The Citadel sculpts were MUCH nicer than the MM ones.

Killshot, I think you've done an excellent paint job on them. These are some of my favorite sci-fi figures. I've tried three different paint schemes on these miniatures and they never turned out right. Looks like they're headed for the stripping jar, because I truly love your all-red color choice.

No, they did 15mm figures as well. As did Hobby Products (think Space Lords Cybertech in 15mm).

Grenader did the 25mm figures. Ral Partha (now Iron Wind) did do some 28mm Traveller figures for TNE.

However, there was a company called Martian Metals, they had upside down ads in Dragon magazine, and they did the first 15mm Traveller of which I'm aware. Badly done, as we've all agreed.

I do remember the Grenadier, though.
