Have You tried the folowing:

mix some drops of blood-red, brown-ink and lots of water (*), put a brush into it and soak it. Then put it infront of the mini and make a decent blow ... it will downright splatter Your mini.

Test it before actually doing it on a given mini, of course! ;)

You may also cover some areas with paper or tissue and You can vary the mixture of the named (*) things to vary the look of the blood.

I've done toothbrush spatter lots of times. I find it works better on larger monsters and scenery so I don't quite trust myself with that trick on smaller figures. I think I'll give the masking trick a try!

@ Everyone else - Thanks so much for all the kind words!

Haven't got the finished lightbox photos done yet, but here are a couple of my Road Gang!

The Goon

Had a lot of fun painting his Zep T and can of Colt 45!

The Ganger

Likewise, I enjoyed putting on his Rising Sun tank top, Louisville Slugger and 14 hole Doc Martins!

Thanks guys! I've finished a few buildings from Demos Laser Cut designs this week as well, which I'll post up.

Just got Bubba and the Kitty Girl to finish painting up for my Road Gang!

Those figures look awesome. I ordered mine back in the spring and was looking at them last night. I still need to file a few mold lines off and prime them and then paint them and about 120 zombies; build some buildings and then finally play a game.... You have inspired me to get going on them  ASAP. Thanks for sharing.

My zombie project took nearly as long.  Even with the host of stuff I've got painted I've got a backlog of probably 40-80 Zombies and another couple dozen survivors, military types, etc. to paint. It used to be you had to scrounge and look for Post Apoc minis... now that I'm swinning in choice I'm a bit overwhelmed!

Put together some of the Demo's Laser Cut Designs single story buildings. I really like these MDF kits.

I've got a three story tower of theirs built up as well as some barricades and dumpsters. Think I'm going to have to get the filling station as well as it's REALLY cool!

Did some more work on my buildings this weekend (interiors, posters and bits of newspaper this time) followed by building myself some telephone/electrical poles from 1/4" dowel and balsa... then some unhammered grommets and craft hooks as the electrical gubbins. They are mounted on 1" finishing nales through a piece of engraved three ply 1/6" birch.

The details are all provided by Demo's as well. I bought the 1 bedroom apartment pack and the Office details packs to add some interiors to my buildings. Posters etc. have all been scrounged off of this site and the newspapers from the 20th century section.

I've got some streetlights scrounged from Michael's christmas crafts section that I'm going to prime over and put some painted on. The best part is that they are weighted at the bottom with some kind of made in china lead slug... so no need to base them!

Cool stuff!
Like the building interior, it still looks "gameable".

Those telephone poles are ace!
I'd like to see some close-ups of the top of the poles when you get them done.
