I agree, I think the BS Marines are good. can't comment on the scale though as I've never used them in a battle :)

The Insurgents are good as well imho, some might look a little bit too post-apocalyptic but looking at some pictures of the Iraq War it's not that far fetched to see a bearded guy with bandana standing in the middle of the street with two AK47s blazing into the sky, Sanchez-Style ;) (You'll know which one I mean if you have the miniature in hand ;) )

I just looked at the range, and I must have confused them with the old Devil Dog minis.  Though I recognize the silly command figure that I really disliked.  The BS ones look okay if a bit...boring (ie. not many variations in kit).  I'd say only a handful are questionable.  They're also rather "old" now, so they'd be suitable for early Iraq 2, but nothing much later.  The rifles and kit are very early this generation.

Not horrible.

There's a Czech company that makes some excellent 1/48 packs and general vehicle stowage. Quarterkit/ Gasoline stock them. Some of the pieces are quite fragile and there are some thick resin casting gates to remove on others but the casting and detail is suberb. Check the Gasoline website for accessories.

As for the BS figures, I quite like the look of them for early Iraq or maybe even Somalia or Gulf War 1.  They are resin though, are they not? That has some drawbacks to my way of thinking. On the other hand I suppose it makes it easier to grind down the bases, to lower their height.

I've had a quick look and could only find US WW2...

These are the Humvees I've sourced...

Which breakdown nice and simply.

And the Eureka crew fit nicely.

I hope you are planning a motorcycle helmeted 50cal operator as well as a Captain with an AK...

I'd be hard pressed to use the Eureka crew in there, they're waay too current, and the SCAR didn't even exist in 2003 as far as I know, certainly wasn't in use by Recon. The Black Scorpion marines are good for 2003-4 whenever they introduced the MARPAT uniform across the corps, but yes, they are on the large side. The only company I ever saw that made MOPP marines were Devil Dog Design, and good luck getting your hands on them!! The rest of the USMC ranges out there are much later, good for 2008-now.

Oh hey those are the ones I'm using. Have a name for the producer? I keep finding them secondhand, but I'm wondering if the company that makes them has an online shop with similar kits.

Ok, maybe they are out of stock. In that case go directly to the manufacturer, which is Blackdog. Scroll down the page and you'll see the modern equipment plus Humvee stowage.

There is no other option. They don't wear MOPP throughout the series.

Yep. Pref with specs ala: http://afteraction.oxoniensis.org/caps/105/gk105-055.jpg

No idea other than they were cover mounted freebies for a military vehicle partworks. I got mine off ebay a few years ago now for under a fiver each. Last time I saw any they were a tenner each. Not seen them for a while.

Those look exactly like the ones I have.  I believe they are Victoria/Vitesse 1:43.  That's what mine are (still have the box)
This is my boomstick!
