A Return to Troy! (New Pics and a WIP, pg 4)
« on: September 27, 2012, 02:49:28 AM »
Just a little thread to keep me on track! The plan: 2 full (40 troops plus Warlords) Warbands plus terrain, plus a pile of Heroes and chariots! Then to actually get some games in, I hope!
First up, half of Hector's Trojans, all Black Tree Design so far. I've gone w/ dun color hides for the Trojans, and will do the black and white for the Greeks, mostly to keep my son from adding "defectors" to his side while I'm distracted! ::)
Archers, as Levy:

Javelins, Levy again:

Warriors w/ horn:

Warriors w/ standard (not really painted til I decide what sort of iconography I put on Hector's shield):

Hearthguard, again w/ and unpainted shield to match the boss!:

Tiny pic! Details when that damn shield is done!

Opinions? I'm very happy w/ the BTD so far, but I have a pile of Foundry after these are done...

Looks great so far!  The BTD figs sure paint up nicely for the cost, especially with those 50% off deals  o_o

Personally, I think your painting has massively improved.

I'm not sure what you are doing differently but this latest batch of models look really nice!  :-*

Seriously impressed with both the miniatures and the paint jobs! Well done sir. So what are you using for Hector?

Very nice. These really look the great, your flesh tone is excellent. I'm really impressed with those figures, Black Tree can be a bit hit and miss for my taste but they look great. I have a few Redoubt figures from days gone by that I am sure will never get painted but keep thinking one of these days.

Hector is the butt-ugliest of the BTD minis that I got. I don't know why, but he kinda spoke to me and elected himself! ::)  He will be the next PJ.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I'm very much enjoying this project.

Very nicely done! And they definitely look better than the Redoubts we used for our Trojan War-game… >:( (sorry, personal peeve)
Anyway, please keep us posted, yours are excellent. :)

Nice! I can actually see Saga working really well for this period. I don't really get the conversions of Saga for periods like Napoleonics, but this seems like a natural.
