WOTR Project (Updated 12/2)
« on: October 04, 2012, 06:39:11 AM »
I've lurked here a while and commented to help people with history but I have now decided to start my own blog. My modelling and painting skills are not at the high standard of this board but I would love comments and criticism anyways. Here are the beginnings of my WOTR army and the prologue to what will be my SAGA, saga  :D as well. Please take a look and share your thoughts.

My painting standard is unofficially the 'low measure' of what is acceptable here... so you've passed!  lol

I'll be checking out the blog and congratulations on ascending from lurkinhood!

 ;)

Here is my latest Perry WOTR figure, a mounted man at arms representing Sir Henry Grey of Codnor. Comments and criticism always welcome.

More photos as well as what is next on my blog. http://thorsteinnaheidini.blogspot.ca/2012/10/sir-henry-grey-of-codnor.html

Nice! I really like the colour of the horse, it sets off the rider very nicely. Those Perry figs do look like they might be fun to put together rather than tiresome like some other plastics.

The horse is just Citadel Snakebite Leather with a generous amount of Devlan Mud over top. The Perry medievals are great fun to build and easy to kitbash and convert. Later today I'll be putting up a man at arms on foot I painted last night that has bits from all three plastic sets and slight conversions.

It's very effective, I may give it a try. Although all my figures are Front Rank I'd definitely like to pick up a sprue to mess around with.

Nothing wrong with that painting, they look great.

I am guessing as a young Cannuck, you have never been to Codnor? WOTR armour would be advisable safety wear in the Clock pub any night of the week!!

Indeed I haven't but an English castle tour is on my travel list. I'll need to remember to visit the Clock pub if I make it there.

Between SAGA vikings I painted up a dismounted man at arms as well as a mounted retainer for the retinue of Sir Henry Grey.

More pictures on my blog, let me know what you think. http://thorsteinnaheidini.blogspot.ca/2012/10/man-at-arms-and-retainer.html

This project has been slowing down due to new ones popping up but here are the first tow retained archers of Sir Henry Grey. More photos on my blog. http://thorsteinnaheidini.blogspot.ca/2012/11/sir-henry-greys-first-retained-archers.html
