An awesome addition in an awesome collection

Really like the troll. Gives me a Jim Henson vibe.

The adventuring party!

This adventuring party recently escaped the asylum and will some time be making their way down some dungeon (probably their mother inlaw's basement)
2018-04-29_04-36-25 by Kieran Me, on Flickr

First up is Stanley the Necromancer.
Stanley decided that after escaping the asylum necromancy would be a suitable line of work. Unfortunately instead of placing the bones of some poor victim upon the altar for reanimation, he placed his flesh covered spellbook. Now he has a reanimated and joealous spellbook that doesn't allow him to raise any more undead due to his envious nature.

The groups barbarian, George, is next. Unfortunately he enjoyed the feel of the cotton fabric he wore in the asylum so much he continued to wear the same stuff. Here is a picture of him having a rage at the sky because all of his other party members call him "Mage"

Arty the Assassin is the next member. He is convinced that the green dagger he found in a moss ridden cesspit is a weapon of unimaginable power. Wehenver he plunges it into the heart of his victims multiple times with excessive force, they die instantly! He believes he is part of a secret order called the Red Foot Gang. The only evidence they leave behind are red footprints (which seems rather dumb) but really he just spilled some paint on his shoes.

Miguel is the ranger. He can never understand why he always misses his target. The lack of a string and an arrow is the most likely cause.

The last member of the group went crazy from winning three olympic silver medals in a row in dagger throwing. The lack of a gold on these occasions severely effected his mental state.

Aside from that Here is a vampire with an inferiority complex as his minions are all 15mm skeletons, let's call them pixie undead/

Interesting group of miscreants you have there.  But who is the hero of the game?  If they are escapees of the Ark Hamme Asylum then the hero must be the guy with the bat suit.

Some more progress on some things.
I had this medusa miniature sitting around for a long time poorly painted and the hands pulled off from when I was young because I thought they would be great for a conversion on something which never would have happened. So I decided to search the bits box for some suitable hands and found some beastman arms. After a small amount of snipping and slicing I made them serviceable for this gorgon. I think it finishes it off nicely :)

And a empire knight head painted up and chipped a little to look like a petrified victim.

A GW wight. I love this range and want to get more from it. Honestly I never thought I would paint this guy as I thought he was the worst of these wights (the only one I have though) but I slapped some paint on as I was wanting to try out some rusting techniques inspired by Zerotwentythrees awesome thread. Need to put some matte varnish on him yet.

Wow. Long time since I updated this (although lots more painting has been done. I guess I'll put in a load more pictures but first up is the Iron Golem from Reaper Bones. I painted it rusty because I find The simple silver colour scheme too boring. There are silver highlights on it but it just looks like the terrible lighting.
I never really realised how big this guy was before buying it. Definitely worth it's weight in lead, even though it is plastc, so not much weight at all... :? Great mini!

That golem looks great! The rust really suits it. It'd be great in a sci-fi game too, as some long-dormant robot.

I love the paint scheme on that golem. May I ask how you did the rust? Might want to emulate... How do you find the Reaper Bones line in general, slightly too soft material or just right?

Loving that golem!

@ KC-Tyr: I have found Reaper Bones to be a very good material for larger, chunky miniatures, such as this golem. But as soon as you get into fiddly, thin parts, the material does not hold up too well. I find it too bendy for that, and it's not great for holding very small detail either.

So my giant worms and golem (not iron ;) ) are perfectly fine, but the skeletons I bought are terrible, as the slim femurs, spears and bows are all bent out of shape and so soft that even a bit of drybrushing will bend them...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

As Daeothar says. It is great for the big things. They hold their shape well and don't bend. I wouldn't waste my money on the little ones. Although I do back them on kickstarter regularly and just give the little ones to my little ones for painting.

In regards to the paint scheme I have 3 different AK interactives rust colours. Dark rust, shadow rust and light rust. I let them sit as they are too thin for use straight away I find and then blotch it on when it is a bit thicker. Wash it heavily in armor wash. (probably should use the shadow rust for that actually). highlights in silver.
