Eureka Min, Mahsuds 1920-30 era
« on: March 13, 2008, 09:31:07 AM »
Hi all,
you certainly know Nic Robson at Eureka min.
I was in touch with him since 3-4 years for Club 100 Mahsuds tribesmen dressed and equipped for the 1920-30 era.
he requires 10 people who preorder at least 150 figures.
I'm strongly interested and I'll buy 50 figures for myself, so if there are some more interested we could pre-order this kind of figures that are not available .
the references I gave him were taken from the book
"Pictorial history of the Northwest Frontier" by Barthorp, Michael
well I hope this figures are of interest of somebody else.
we should keep in mind that Nic takes time to make figures  :(

Who were the Mahsuds and what do they look like? :?:
He that trades Liberty for Security will soon find that he has neither.

Mahsuds were and are tribesmen of the NWF , they were considered one of the most formidable enemies of the RAJ, treacherous, cunning, bloddthirsty, and so on.

they were dressed like typical Pathans tribesmen, but for the 1920-30 era they were equipped with Lee-Enfield(mostly) and with ammo belts across shoulders.

I'll try to post some pics.

Any idea of how many variants there would be ?
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

really I don't know but normally Eureka make around 4 variants.
if we found a group really interested we can contact Nick asking confirmation of numbers of variants before place the order.

Can I just clarify, does he need 10 people to order 150 mini's each or just 150 in total between 10 people? :?:

No just 10 people for a total ,between the 10 people ,of 150 figs,
then he'll make at least 4 variants and up to 3 command figures, Nic confirm this to me yesterday.

Put me down for 20 then. I wanted something similar to the Arabs from the mummy film but with a slight Indian style to them to be Thugee cultists. These look just the thing judging from the headgear. What do I need to do on Eureka's site?

I just ordered 20  :)

Though they had put them in 19th Century not in 20th Century section, by the way.  :freak:

we should go to Eureka 100's club and thick the box of mahsuds tribesmen stating the quantities to buy, then leave credit card details and that's all.
the credit card will be taken just for guarantee, Nic will debit the card when the figs are done and ready to ship. this is normally what happened.
but I think is better to wait some more time in order to enlist some other boys in this project, actually , seems , we are just two.
