Aztec and Conquistador Gallery
« on: October 30, 2012, 02:51:00 AM »
A little over a decade ago I painted a large collection of 15mm Aztecs and Conquistadors.  When I completed my Pirate collection in June of this year, I decided to return to the Aztecs and Conquistadors and complete some of the detail work that had not been done when the collection was first painted.  With that done, I have put the collection together as a gallery of 37 pictures.  I’m rather happy with the way it all turned out.  Hope you’ll take a look.  There are some sample photos, but the complete gallery can be seen at  www.warin15mm.com/Aztec-Gallery.html

Okay, hang on for a second, Richard, while I speak a bit to Nevermore:  Dude!  Best response ever, made me laugh out loud.  Hip-hip-hooray, hip-hip-hooray, Hip-Hip-HOORAY!

Okay, enough with the superlatives as I get back to Richard.  Sir!  As I've often said, the best gaming is about serving up a visual feast and - you never disappoint on that score.  However, this time your score is more of a symphony or, if I may mix my metaphors - and I am going to anyway, this time you've served up a gourmet banquet.  I'm hungry and I just ate.

I need a superlaxative - oh, wait, that's not what I meant!   lol

FifteensAway, as always thank you for writing.  I will begin as you did by saying how much I enjoyed the "comments" of Nevermore.  Brilliant!  As to the Aztecs and Conquistadors, thank you for the very generous words!  This gallery has been waiting for me to finish it for far too long, but there were things it needed, and I guess that for the longest time I didn't feel up to the task and the key figures (the villager/the Blue Moon Deep Dark Africa villagers, boats and paddlers) weren't available.  Once I had those, I was ready.  It's probably not appropriate to say how much I like my own gallery, but I really do like this one a great deal.  The figures are pretty, the scope is grand, the structures are interesting and the collection itself required that I bring to the table whatever skills I have: model making, toy recovery/makeover, figure painting and modification, and scratch building.  It was great for me to finally see it come together after many years.  I am truly glad you enjoyed it too.  I do love the 15s!  Richard

Un-paralleled in the annals of TTG history.  Also,  thank you for the in depth explanation of where you sourced minis/terrain from.  I just purchased 6 pyramids from Back Off Buzzard on ebay.
This is my boomstick!

Thanks so much for the kind words.  This is a period that has so much going for it that it simply a joy to read about and build a collection around.  Absolutely great fun.  Doomsdave, you are going to love those Back Off Buzzard pyramids.  The game is nuts, but the pyramids are wonderful.  I really appreciate that you all took the time to write.  I had a wonderful time putting this collection and this gallery together, and I'm glad to hear that others are enjoying it too.  Richard

Outstanding work, sir!   And with the others above, I really appreciate the information packed into your write-up on sources for the project.
