I have an armed archeologist who would do as Two-gun Cohen  ;)

Otherwise, I like to theme an army and One-arm Sutton may be my man once i've read up ..

What have you done Gentlemen?!  lol

I have British, which i'll expand on, and i'm starting Chinese. Looking at exchanging some figs for a Rolls Royce armoured car and, possibly, a Vickers Mk III (i'm not sure about the latter but it will whittle down my lead pile)  :D

Two of the guys from the club have signed up. One is doing White Russian; the other wants to use his VBCW figures [i've no idea either but he's welcome to]

Another mate has WW1 Russians - they'll pass, yes?

Waiting on a 5th but he's a good game boy

It begins ..

And the 5th says he has a "few" Chinese bantdits somewhere which usually means he has a horde kicking about ..

Awesome! Can't wait to get stuck into the books

Now you've gone and done it! I'm still in the process of getting over the Sudan and FIW (actually I'm not getting over them they are taking over me).

I do have lots and lots of Russians WW1, armoured vehicles and an armoured train (well two actually) and apart from the Russians they all need painting.

I'll try to resist but I can see it being a futile attempt.

Here we go again.

Well done,

I read 3 of Hopkirks books they are great for atmosphere and detail.

I began by painting Chinese , I have 130 or so and then Whites, gain a 100 or so.

Buy Triumph & Tragedy rules, these are just awesome rules, easy to learn fun and brutal to play.

The games I ran at blam in 2010 and 2011 were so much fun.

I'm going to add my Sikhs to these for BoB games (a little early but hey whose counting).

So i can throw in 40 Sikh Infantry, 12 Cavalry/Lancers and a Mountain Gun into the mix with my Brits ...

Now, just waiting to hear about a RR armoured car and Vickers Medium Mk III tank ..  :D

Then for the Warlord Chinese ..

Gentleman,

Welcome to the madness of the 1920s on the Sino-Russian border around the time of the Russian Civil War. Warlords in China, while notionally are part of the regular army, carve out for themselves small empires in the wilderness.

Britain has her eye on threats to its Indian borders and is involved in the Great Game with Russia. Germany and Japan is having a dabble here and there, as are the Turks.

And heavily armed expeditions/film crews from Britain and the US roam the Chinese deserts on “scientific” research i.e. looking for priceless treasures.

Bandits and Smugglers are rife.

I give you The Back of Beyond …

•   Ady “The Mad Baron” - White Russians
•   Commissar Nice John  – Bolsheviks
•   Grabbit and Run Paul – Adventurers
•   James Flashman O’Toole* - British
•   “Yuk Foo” – Chinese Warlord (our mystery player)
•   The Inscrutable Q – Chinese Bandits
•   Evil Trev … possibly too evil even for this period. Which is going some. We’ll see
•   Big “Two-gun”D – mercenary forces/bodyguard for hire!!

Typical forces are 30 – 50 figs. It’s a very much anything go period. Cossacks, Tibetans, Monks, Model T Fords, crappy armoured cars and experimental tanks (that almost certainly won’t work, run out of ammo, fuel etc. etc.)

*An illegitimate grandson of the old man himself of The Flashman papers and has inherited all of his famous forbears less charming characteristics

Red and White Russians are natural enemies and can never ally. Everyone else is out for themselves and will ally/double cross to their hearts content

Expect multi-player games and scenarios rather than straight shoot em ups ..

I bought the book yesterday.

Dave/Cavalier Books is coming back to me later with my order for Copplestone WL Chinese and your rules

I'm a few quid lighter than i was last week but considerably more enriched. A good friend of mine now tells me that he always wanted to do a White Russian force for this period but thought nobody was interested.

Gentlemen, i salute you !!  :D

And with impeccable timing, the General of Fortune book and the figure of One-armed Sutton (thanks Vern) have landed on my desk at work this morning.

A spot of reading over lunch methinks ...
