BLAM 2012- Invasion of the Saucer People
« on: November 06, 2012, 05:59:54 PM »
Some pics of my game from this year's BLAM.
The game is a five player affair that pits Greys, Little Green Men, Government Investigators, Interested Interlopers, Hillbillies and a whole slew of Alien Stowaways against each other as each player tries to amass victory points by exploring the table and overcoming the other factions when they ran into each other.
The full project is detailed in this thread:

This was one of my absolute favourites at BLAM. Off-beat, fun and inventive.

Magnificent table.  :-*
Am I correct in assuming the windmill is a plasticville/bachmann piece ?
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons,

This was a game I would have liked to play at least one more time during the weekend (I am the chap in fez). The game played a lot like a board game but felt like a true miniature game. The fact that there is a mess of scenery obscuring the miniatures made it quite differently from a printed board game. It was quite hard to plan ahead for your next turn because of the many things which  would happen when the other four gamers had their turns. Nevertheless you depended on thinking ahead.

With your permission, Paul, I will nick this idea and set up something similar for a few friends.

It was a massively good fun game to watch! I preferred lurking to playing, I am a shy fella like that (!), but it was great fun to watch. Massive congrats to Matakishi for creating that - a stunning selection of minis in breathtaking amounts! :-* Fantstic fun.

By all means go ahead Peder. I'm considering a fantasy version with different factions raiding a mine. There'd be gold and gems instead of cattle and wandering monsters instead of alien stowaways but the game would essentially be the same.

It is an excellent excuse to dump all you have onto the table in one go. :)

It was great fun to play, and as Hammers says, bloody difficult to plan ahead.

Wacky, bonkers and seriously funny at times.
I enjoyed it immensely.

Thanks, Matakishi!

You tried planning ahead? I gave up on that plan pretty quickly, but that's governement organisation for you (I played the G-men).

The game was a right hoot although my favourite moment has to have been the 'serious' discussion concerning the collective noun for Turdmites - which is a 'motion' for those for you that were wondering.
