Impetus Teutonic Order - Veteran Order Knights
« on: December 12, 2012, 12:44:42 PM »
Hey folks,

I was able to get my veteran order completed over the last few days and wanted to share my results. This was my first attempt at doing horses with comparisons and free handing a cross. It seems like a small task but for a first timer it was tough heehee.

Here are a few pics of the results, four units of light cavalry.

You can check out more here.

Cheers,

Thanks guys. The models are from Essex. So far I have been finding them a treat to paint. I'm going to start on a unit of Order knights next. I'm hoping I will get a chance to field them soon.

Very nice! I'm constantly amazed how well some people can paint 15s.

Have you tried 15s? I'm actually finding 15s more enjoyable then 28s. It took a little to get used to be are much more fun to paint.

I used to use 15s for all my ancients a loooong time ago always looked terrible when I painted them lol. I still use 15s for my AK-47 armies but Modern(ish) troops are generally skin and one colour uniform so hard to screw up. I suppose being brought up on Warhammer as a kid 28s (or as they used to be 25s) are always the scale I feel most comfortable painting and get the best results from.

I was able to field the units I had finished in a quick game against some Swiss. (not a fan of the pikes...they are evil >:D)  I did find the Veteran Order were stellar, very dangerous as you said. Everything they came in contact with they pretty much cut through like butter. I am working on a unit of Order Knights to go with them now.

I can understand. I have a friend who is one of the best painters I know and he prefers 28s as well. Its all up to what you enjoy. Once of the cool things about this hobby.
