Haven't seen those but a friend of mine is working on a 42mm Sudan project using Irregular Miniatures figures painted up in an old fashioned toy soldier style with gloss paint and rosey cheeks.

Lurking somewhere on the web there are also some photos of a game put on at one of the shows a few years back using old style cloth bound books stacked up on a turkish rug for terrain with a propper clockwork train running around. Looks as though HG Wells himself had set it up!
