James Bond cars

There were some adverts for James Bond Cars on TV tonite , I'm not sure if there is a magazine attached or if its just cars that are for sale.
Has anybody bought them and are they 1/43rd scale? I'm really interested in buying them.

I'm always confused by this scale thing.  Is 1/43 any good for 28mm?

Quite a few people seem to use 1/43rd and put the figures on tall GW bases . The figures seem way too short for the cars but are quite wide so would not fit into 1/64th scale cars .
I bought some Matchbox 1/64th scale cars and they look odd with 28mm figures .

The cars are produced by Universal Hobbies in China and you can get them reasonably priced on evilbay if you buy direct and get a few to combine shipping.

Some of them go for silly prices from UK sellers. The magazine came out last year over here which was about a year after it was out in France. This means French sellers can be cheap as the bubble has burst there now.

I only collect Astons (not bond specific) but they are decent models for the money if you get them at cover price.

Yep, go with 1:43 for 28mm figures; some 1:48 vehicles (specially militrary  ones) and 1:50 trucks and heavy machinery also fits well with most 28mm minis.

I just bought the first set and am very pleased with the car . It was only NZ$9.95 (about 4 pounds) but the regular issues are NZ$24.95 .
I'd like to get them all but will probobly just get the best ones . I'd like a couple of 2CV's.
I am going to use them in my Modern Zombies games when I get the figures painted.

2cv's are probably among the less desirable ones to casual collectors so I would search for 2nd hand ones.

The uk pricing was Ł2.99 for the first and then Ł7.99 for regular issues so that will give you a couple of quid head start if you go the ebay route.

I had a look at the second car in the series today . Aston Martin Vanquish which looks huge , so I think I'm going to be very selective on which ones I buy .
That 2CV sold for 6.99 (pounds) .
He has the Mini Moke listed at 8.99 and buy it now price at 12.99 which I find funny as you can buy them from the site for 7.99 with the magazine. :roll:

a friend of mine who is a dealer recently sold 2x 2CV's plus another form the range so 3 cars together for Ł2.99 plus postage on ebay so there are bargains to be had

I've seen them too but I think the price is too high. I don't really care if they're bond cars or not, in general I am willing to spend about 3 euros on a model, only more in special occasions (but they rarely happen).

Incidentally, at this moment Norev is doing a similar thing with a range of 2CV's so if you want those that magazine is a better bet. The introductory issue (with a black&bourgondy 2CV) was only 3 euros so you may find that one on ebay as well.

As for scaling I think 1:43 works well enough, I use GW style slottabases and mostly EM4 Future Warriors and they may look a bit small occasionally but it's impossible to find a better fitting scale with such a great abundance as 1:43 models.

The van on the right is 1:43, the car has no scale indication but looks more like 1:48 than 1:43 (so it's a bit better scaled).


This is a Corgi model without scale on the bottom, but it should be around 1:43

yeah long time ago I saw those James Bond Cars adverts on TV too, the adverts showcased cars that are available for sale, but I'm not sure if there's a magazine attached to them.

As for the scale, I can't say for certain if they're 1/43rd scale. It might be worth doing some research or reaching out to the company advertising the cars to get more specific details. They might have that information available on their website or in their product descriptions.

If you fancy building a 2CV, with all the attendant possibility to customise, battle damage or populate with passengers then there's an old 1/43 Heller plastic model kit out there. It's a very simple kit, probably less than 20 pieces. I just picked one up from a local retailer for $10AUD but they pop up on Ebay and the like. There's a few Renault types, a rather nice Peugeot 403 and eve an XJS Jag. Almost ideal gaming items.
